In the 1960s and 1970s, the artificial cultivation of edible and medicinal mushrooms such as shiitake, black fungus, Ganoderma lucidum and other mushrooms in the world mainly used wood as raw material, and in China, the cultivation of shiitake alone required the cutting of more than 10 Millions of cubic meters of deciduous forest per year, leading to serious ecological problems and a “contradiction between fungus and forest”. In order to protect the forest and improve the yield and quality of Juncao, while finding a new path of sustainable development of the mushroom industry, which can help people get rid of poverty and become rich, many agriculture and forestry experts have had dedicated to researching innovations in Juncao technology.
LIN Caiwei, an agricultural engineer, was born in 1983 and graduated from Xinjiang Shihezi University. Now Chairman and General Manager of Juncao’s Danzhou Muchun Ecological and Agricultural Development Co., Ltd, he is good at applying theoretical knowledge and cultivation experience to solve the problems encountered in the development of Juncao or the edible and medicinal mushroom industry are. In addition to the development of Juncao edible and medicinal mushroom industry, LIN Caiwei also attaches great importance to the sustainable development of Juncao production chain. He believes that sustainability is the basis for the development of China’s agriculture, so he coordinates with high standard Planting of Juncao raw materials to manufacture of edible mushroom bags, from cultivation and planting of edible (medicinal) mushrooms to food production, processing and sale, to then form a perfect industrial system of Juncao edible and medicinal mushroom industry. LIN Caiwei believes that Juncao’s research achievements must be used efficiently and the technical achievements with good logic are the basic elements for building the whole chain of Juncao recycling industry. Therefore, Juncao’s technical achievements are needed as support for promoting the development of local ecological economy and promoting the coordinated development of agriculture.
In response to the ecological problem of “contradiction between mushroom and forest” in traditional edible and medicinal mushroom technology, LIN Caiwei developed the method of Juncao edible mushroom bag and mycelium cultivation, this method is a new planting technology, it is different from the traditional planting method, that does not require wood as a raw material and does not destroy any forest, the pursuit of “grass instead of wood” has really achieved. It effectively solves the problem related to raw materials in the development of the mushroom industry, sets standards and controls the quality of raw materials from the source, fundamentally improves the production and quality of the mushroom industry, realizes the comprehensive and efficient use of light, heat and water in the entire industrial chain of edible and medicinal mushrooms and the recycling production of plants, animals and mushrooms with the combination of economic, social and environmental benefits, all conducive to environmental, food and energy security.
In the current Juncao cultivation industry, there are various problems such as: B. Mixed types of seedlings, unstable quality, unregulated cultivation, harvest and processing depletion. All these problems make the development of Juncao industry lag behind. In response, LIN Caiwei devoted himself to researching how to improve the common key technologies and the integrated application of their seed breeding, seed production, seed processing, storage and transportation, field planting and management. He has also developed patents such as A Method for Making Artificial Seeds of Pennisetum Giganteum, A Seedling Cutting Device for Juncao, A Solar Drying Device for Ganoderma Lucidum, A Bulk Planting Machine for Juncao, A Batch Packaging Machine for Ganoderma Lucidum Culture Medium and other patents combined with contemporary science and technology.
In this procedure, A Method for Making Artificial Seeds of Pennisetum Giganteum uses the axillary buds at the base of the stalk of Pennisetum Giganteum after scientific treatment as explants, and takes the irregular upper part of the seed buds as artificial seeds and injects the Artificial Endosperm of Sodium Alginate, MS Medium , naphthaleneacetic acid, indolebutyric acid, sucrose and activated charcoal into the centrifuge tube, then inject CaCl2 solution, harden to form Pennisetum giganteum seed capsule, mix sodium alginate, plululan polysaccharide and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose to make artificial seed casing, put artificial seeds into the capsule casing and cover. This invention is applicable to the mechanized sowing production of Pennisetum giganteum seeds, which shortens the culture cycle of its seeds, reduces costs, and improves production efficiency. The application and promotion of this method reduces the cost of labor and time, which is of great help to the development of their breeding and planting, helps the reconfiguration of the human resource elements, promotes the scientific and sustainable development of the Juncao industry, and curbs the low yield of it and the waste of labor costs and time costs originally and truly realizes the “total chain of Juncao recycling industry”.
More than ten years of research in Juncao industry, multiple patent achievements, successfully create considerable income for Danzhou Muchun Ecological and Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., local people and customers. In addition to Juncao research, LIN Caiwei is also interested in exploring the tertiary industry related to Juncao industry and is a talent worthy of his reputation. In the future, he will devote himself to researching Juncao industry and continue to bring fresh energy to the development of Juncao industry in the world. (Article/ Joe)
